Abbey house

Abbey House is thought to be one of the oldest house in Padstow. Situated on North Quay it is generally believed to be an Elizabethan Merchantman's House.

There are rumours of secret passages to Prideaux Place but extensive research by the local archaeology society failed to find anything.

The house is privately owned and is not open to the public.

Abbey House's most famous resident was Mrs Simpson who used to spend many hours stood in the window opening. Visitors to Padstow in the 70s and 80s will remember her.
